Denver
Monday, November 21, 2016
Now that we have moved to the southwest from Washington DC, Denver has become the closest major metropolitan city that offers a diverse ethnic dinning experience. We used to fly into Denver but quickly transit out to the neighboring ski areas and national parks, never taking the time to explore the city closely. All that has changed.
16th Street From Union Station to Civic Center (Nov 2016)
The city has converted a one mile segment of the 16th street to a pedestrian friendly open air mall, with free bus ride. The free bus ride segment links (almost) Union Station to the Civic Center (photo above shows Denver’s City & County Building at the Civic Center). One can hop on and off the buses to visit various attractions easily.

Denver Botanic gardens (June 2015)
We’ve been to many major gardens in the US, including the National Arboretum in DC, the San Francisco Golden Gate Park, Portland’s Washington Park and the Huntington Library in Pasadena, CA. Comparatively speaking, the Denver Botanic Garden is smaller but packed with little gems. There are small themed gardens accompanied by various sculpture art exhibits. Many locals rent these themed gardens for their wedding. Well worth a visit.
