Gold Coast Revisited
Gold Coast Revisited
2012
We’re leaving on Virgin America, a direct flight into LAX, approximately 6 hours flight. Virgin America is becoming one of our favorite airlines, the amenity and service is top notch for economy class standard. On this trip, we have problem getting side by side seating, the only seats available are center seats. The only work around is to upgrade to main cabin seating. That gets us the emergency exit row with extra leg room, plus free snack, free meals, free movies, free check-in luggage, the works. Not a bad deal for a 6 hour flight, it makes the flight more tolerable (or more enjoyable).
LA is a huge place. Torrance is often our home base. The hotels here are quite reasonable. The Best Western on Torrance Blvd is a brand new establishment, well suited for business travelers. It’s simple, but clean and quiet with rooms set back away from the main thoroughfare. Just make sure to ask for a room away from the elevators, vending machines and the gym.
Leaving for Los Angeles
1/15/12
The travel plan calls for spending 2 days in Los Angeles and 4 days in San Diego. We’re doing the typical tourist traps activities this time in LA, visiting Hollywood and Rodeo Drive, followed by some hiking and site seeing in San Diego.
